Sand pictures

I got some stencils from the shop and tried out these pictures using coloured sand. My daughter tried her hand in snail and did a neat job.

Agarbathi stand

One more agarbathi stand. I got somehow interested in making agarbathi stand using different materials. This one is made in aluminium silver foil used for wrapping food items. Was bit difficult in handling the paper, but it was easier to stick and work. It can also be used as a paper weight.

Kusudama Flower

Just learned how to do a simple flower using paper folding. My daughter and niece helped me out in folding petals and I joined them to get this beautiful Kusudama flower. Just added some beads and changed it to a wall hanging.

Pot painting

Just tried my hand in pot painting. Bought some pots made of terracota from the shops and used fabric paints to colour them.

Sun photo frame

This is a sun photo frame using paper folding. I used golden paper and folded each part and joined it to get the shape of a sun. Then pasted a photograph of my daughter at the back side.

Woollen mat

This mat is made using woollen threads. It requires a wooden frame with nails in it. Based on the shape of the frame namely, hexagon/square/rectangle, we can make this mat. We use wool in contrast colours to make it more attractive. The wool must be brought around the nails and once complete, make knots and cut it from the frame. The green one is a bigger mat which can be used for covering TV screens and in centre table.

Pen stand

My daughter made this pen stand using ice cream sticks. She made this beautiful flower using the remaining pieces cut from the ice cream sticks. Applied glitter and painted it.

Agarbathi stand

I started doing this after getting fascinated with Tanjore painting. I was thinking to do something different and learnt this. As a beginner in Tanjore painting, this came out really well more than I expected. The sides of the stand are done with any creative designs.

Sand art

I wanted to try doing pictures using sand for a long time. Traced the picture of flower pot in a velvet cloth and then tried using coloured sand available in the market. Gave finishing touches using glitter glue.
Hope you liked it..

A hut

A small hut made out of daily calender sheet. A simple paper folding process and believe me this one is made by my daughter all by herself. I was very happy to see her complete this in one shot.

Door mat

I learnt how to do knitting and started off with this door mat using sarees. The process involves cutting a saree into thin strips and knitting it. Though it took some time, the end result was good.

Ganesha

Just started with this simple craft work using kundan stones. I had to trace this Ganesha onto a velvet sheet and used 3D outliner and kundan stones.
